FAQ:

1. Primary current and secondary current of outdoor combined transformer

The primary current is a direct ratio of the secondary current plus the magnetizing current which is very small.

The ratio is the turns ratio which also determines the secondary voltage as referred to the primary voltage applied.

2. How do you calculate the primary current of a transformer(as.combined transformer)?

Primary Current (current on High Voltage side) is 5.25 amps. KVA = (√3. V x I) /1000= (1.732 × 11000 × 5.25)/1000=100 KVA.
...
Transformer selection is based on mainly 4 parameters:

Power rating in KVA (Kilo Volt Amperes),

Primary voltage,

Secondary voltage,

Tap arrangement.

4.How do you find the maximum output power of A transformer?

The power output in any electrical system is the product of output voltage, output current,

and power factor (pf) as given in the equation Electrical Power in Watts=Voltage*Current*pf.

5.What is short time thermal current?

Short Time Current (For CT): It is the current which a CT can withstand for 1 second without reaching a temperature level which can damage insulation.

Short time thermal current can be deduced by the formula Ith= Sk/(Un X √3 ) Where Sk= Fault MVA Un= Rated Voltage.
